What is your question?
Battery new and charged. Turns over slowly with plugs out. With plugs in Starter starts to smoke trying to start engine. Starter unable to turn over fast enough to start engine. I am unable to turn over engine w/ 1/2" breaker bar 24" long at the crankshaft pulley. Have any experienced this situation? Are the timing chains without correct lube, A possible spun bearing, or something else. When I cranked it with plugs out using the starter it cranked somewhat slower than I would expect but I did not hear any unusual sounds like metal pieces hitting one another. Please advise. Thanks What seems to make the problem better or worse? NA How long have you had this problem? since buying the car at auction

If the engine won't crank with spark plugs in it, there is a concern inside the engine that will need tear down for repairs. It could have mechanical issues or fuel or coolant in the cylinders causing hydro-lock. Any way you look at it, it's a big repair and the engine will need to be torn down...or better yet, find a good used / remanufactured engine.
Thanks Dave, I have a feeling you are correct. I may have to tear into the engine. Ray
