can i put a 2007 cobalt 2.2 ecotech engine in my 2005 cobalt? the original engine blew up and I found this 2007 model i put it in the shop but the mechanics can't seem to make it work have everything changed over but apparently the old computer is throwing it out of time? can anybody help me? Or is there a converter of some sort for the computer and or wiring harness that will make the 07 engine work with the 05 equipment. Thanks Jason

Not to be a downer but...Unfortunately, it's just a very prohibitive operation that requires lots of time and money and ingenuity to figure out. I would strongly consider not doing that swap. You will likely never get it to operate properly. Processors from year to year cannot be interchanged, let alone processors for a different engine. Anything can be done in life, but some things would require far more effort than is reasonable. The only thing I can think to suggest is to swap every component from that 2007 model into your 2005. Including the entire powertrain - transmsision and all. All the wiring harnesses, processor, emissions control...
