What is your question?
I have a 2014 xtera. It is stalling while driving. It has happened three times, once on an off ramp (engine plenty warm), then started again and stalled again on the way home about 3 miles later. Heater was not working. Brought to my mechanic who found hose assembly at heater core leaking (replaced it) and a very dirty throttle body needing cleaning. It was also down a gallon of coolant. Yesterday after the above repairs it stalled again while driving, stalled out at about 30 MPH. It did restart. It has about 155,000 miles. I welcome your ideas!

Hey there! It sounds like you're going through quite a frustrating time. Even after the heater core hose assembly repairs and the throttle body cleaning, you're still experiencing these issues. With your Xterra having around 155,000 miles, there are a few areas we need to consider. Firstly, the fact that it was down a gallon of coolant is concerning. Even though the leaking hose was replaced, the cooling system might still have issues, such as a faulty thermostat, another leak, the water pump, or a failed head gasket. If the engine is overheating or has overheated previously, it could have damaged the engine, which can cause stalling. The cleaned throttle body may have contributed to stalling, but we need to investigate further. A failing fuel pump, engine timing issues, or electrical problems like faulty sensors could be contributing. Professional evaluation is crucial for an accurate diagnosis and repair. Rather than just replacing parts, a skilled mechanic will identify and address the root cause, getting your Xterra back to reliable performance. A RepairPal Certified shop has the tools and expertise to diagnose the issue correctly, saving you time and money and reducing the frustration of dealing with ongoing problems.
