Electronic power throttle - Strong Burning Smell (like natural gas)

We drove the car on 4-wheel drive for about an hour due to freezing roads, after which there is an ongoing burning smell like rubber or natural gas smell that doesn't go away. When I started the car again, the electronic power throttle emergency light went on and the car hesitated to start. I turned the car off and on again and it started normal, but the strong smell stayed.
