Driving down the road and the van started to loose power and shut down. It started to jerk and turned off. Now the van will not turn over and crank

Van was running fine. Oil was clean. I was driving home at normal speed. Van did not smoke it just started to slow down on its own. Then it jerked three times and turned off. Now the van will not crank. The fan will turn east so I didn't know it that meant the van motor did not lock up on me or does that mean anything.
What makes this problem better or worse?

When you say the engine will not crank, do you mean the starter will not turn the engine, or that the engine tries to start but does not?
If the starter will not turn the engine, plus the van chugged and quit running, I would point to a charging system issue.
However, if the starter is cranking the engine, but the engine will not start and run, I look at fuel as the issue.
