Ford Explorer door panel warping issue on passenger and driver's side on Ford Explorer

Problem overview

Some Ford Explorer owners report experiencing issues with door panels warping, particularly on both the passenger and driver's sides. This problem often manifests as the top part of the door panel separating where it meets the glass, leading to an unsightly appearance. Additionally, some owners have noted delamination of the top edge of the front door trim panels, which contributes to the warping issue. In several cases, the door panel has come apart from the frame, prompting repairs by dealers who have addressed the problem under a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) by stapling the trim in place. To mitigate these issues, it is recommended that owners follow the Service Procedure steps for correction and check with a Ford dealership regarding any recalls related to this problem from 2017.
