I just did a quick look at google, and your g6 engine is an interference engine, if it was the timing chain, then sadly, it probably did some heavy damage to the internals, mostly the valves.

I just did a quick look at google, and your g6 engine is an interference engine, if it was the timing chain, then sadly, it probably did some heavy damage to the internals, mostly the valves.
