Does a 1993 bmw 525i use syntentic oil?

This will be my first oil change since owning the car and I would like to know what type of oil should I use. Different people are telling me different things. One said synthetic oil another person told me that year model does not require synthetic oil. Can you help me with this. I must get my oil changed as soon as possible. Thanks, Philly
