Did my timing belt tensioner mess up my motor when it broke

I was just driving down the freeway when my car just died. No noise, and when I tried to start it again, it would just spin, but not catch
What makes this problem better or worse?
It just broke and died. Nothing else

Hello, if your timing belt tensioner failed, and your timing belt jumped, it is definitely possible that you may have sustained engine damage. A physical inspection is required to find out what is going on. Diagnostic testing and hands and hands on testing is needed.
