What is your question?
My 2008 Edge had the PTU changed 1,700 miles ago. Saw a leak, last week, they replaced my rack and pinion, now the power steering has gone out they think maybe the pump. My question is, Could they have damaged the the steering when they changed the ptu? This car has never shifted right. Bucks at 50 mph trying to stay in a gear, even after the new PTU. Would not shift before I had it changed. Just saw a small leak. $4200 +$1035 and now maybe a power steering pump. 160,000 miles and it's going to a trade in lot as soon as possible. Loyal Ford Owner that will NEVER buy another. Oh did I mention I wasn't supposed to have front seat passengers for almost two years due to an air bag recall they could not fix. Just got another notice the driver airbag might kill me, they don't have a fix, but just go ahead drive it. Thanks Ford---NOT.

But you have 160,000 miles? How long do you suspect the vehicle should last without issue? Sounds like you have more of a concern with the shop working on then vehicle rather than the vehicle. Check for a local shop near you for another opinion: www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
