my car run hot not overheating, fan seems to come on late. what turns on the fan

Check the rust colored fuse links are OK they bring power to the cooling fan relay. The powertrain computer turns on the cooling fan via the cooling fan relay as needed. The powertrain computer measures the engine temperature using a switch at the back of the engine underneath the ignition coil pack ( yellow and a black wire at the switch), Supply power to the light blue wire at the fan motor see if it works.
