I recently changed the oil on my C300 4 Matic and when screwing on the canister the O Ring must have rolled up to the top of the canister. I did the usual and filled it with Mobil One Synthetic and cranked it up, let it set, checked the oil and parked it. Next morning looked under it and no leaks. Drove it for 5 miles and pulled over. It had blown out 5 of the 7.8 quarts all over the engine. I placed a new O Ring and new oil and now every time I crank it when COLD it sounds like it has no oil for a few seconds then smooths out. Please HELP!

It sounds like the oil pump is bleeding down when sitting. Which is normal. Unfortunately, not much you can do IF this is the case. The C300's do make a little noise at startup when cold. You might just be noticing it now because of the incident tho. As long as it's not knocking any other time.
