What is your question?
Hi, I have a 2008 Sebring Convertible w/4 cyl. engine. Failed Massachusetts State Inspection for emissions. I replaced gas-cap w/Mopar correct cap, "Check Gas Cap" light still comes on. We had code P457 come up, and that was addressed and fixed with evap plug and replaced leak detection pump. The 'dealership' (mom and pop place) told me to drive 500-600 miles on the fixed parts and the light should go off. I have gone over 650 miles, light still comes on and code is P10000 now. Running out of time to get the car fixed and to pass inspection. Thanks! Todd G

P1000 is indicating that there is more driving needed to set a diagnostic monitor which states that everything is working ok -- or that it is not. The check engine light will not come on for a P1000 code. If the light is on, there must be other codes associated with it. Truth be told, see your point of repair with concerns -- they should be willing and able to assist. It is true that a drive cycle could take quite some time to run through diagnostic steps to get a "pass" code. Make sure, though that you keep about a half tank of fuel in the vehicle -- not less than 1/4 tank, not more than 3/4 tank. The evaporative monitor will not run below 1/4 and above 3/4 tank. Good luck!
