Hello, The issue is likely a bad oil pressure sensor. The oil light is on to inform you that you have low oil pressure, and the check engine light is likely coming on to tell you that the oil pressure sending unit voltage is outside of specifications. This isn't a guarantee, but it would make total sense. Any time the oil pressure light (oil can) comes on, turn the engine off, and have the vehicle towed to a repair facility. The oil light may be coming on in error, but, if not, the tow will be much cheaper than replacing the engine or vehicle.
