I tried to get the car smogged, however the check engine light came on and the smog tech said that the diagnostic computer said it could not smog the car and showed a code PO401. The computer didn't say what the issue was. Can you help direct me to the issue. Thank You, David

P0401 means an EGR flow problem - Exhaust Gas Recirculation system. A diagnostic test needs to be performed to find out why this is happening.
The check engine light on my 96 Corolla has been coming on for two yrs now I have replaced all of the 0xygen Sensors and it comes on so my mechanic says it is nothing and shuts it off. It has not come on for months now but I just got a ping - so we shall see
