car stalls

What is your question?

The gas guage doesnt seem to be working right, then the guage will shoot up to full then the car stalls. Put gas in it and it runs fine for aliitle while then will start stalling again. could this be some sort of sensor malfunctioning or maybe spark plug wires are arcing because looking at them they seemed kinda worn and brittle. Im just a girl with a budget and little knowledge of cars
