Car shuts off while driving

Is the Check Engine Light on? perhaps there are codes stored in the computer of your car. It is more likely to be an ignition switch problem or a short in the wiring harness some where by you description. If it won't shut off , remove the trim around the steering cowling and locate the electrical connector that comes out of the ignition switch itself. If it shuts off the switch has a short, if it still continues to run there is a short somewhere in the system and a wiring diagram will be needed to trace the electrical circuits.
