Without hearing the noise you're speaking of coming from the engine, it's difficult to know if you've got a water pump making noise or an internal engine problem making noise. By the way - replacing things like a water pump and thermostat on a BMW without a diagnostic tool to reset and program the vehicle to accept the new components as well as purge the cooling system properly is a virtual impossibility. You'll cause more problems than you'll resolve. You truly need outside help from a shop near you. Here's a way to find one you can consult: www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
