Car jerks when put gear is changed sounds rusty

What is your question?

My boyfriend told me to place my foot all the way down on the brake in order for it not to jerk and squeak and that sometimes works but it still does it when i put it out of park. Also don't think it's related a rattling sound comes from the front when its turned on. Wth is this??
