You also may have a bad fuse. In the fuse block under the hood, the relays and fuses should be checked, and make sure the fans are connected, and wires are not damaged. Also, you can test the circuit by turning on the air conditioner, and seeing if the auxiliary fan comes on. Jumping across the fan relay should turn the fan on while the key is set to "ON", with the engine off or on. If the fan does not turn on when the relay is jumped, it should be tested by an external power source.
