Q: Car Cuts Off on 2006 Mercedes-Benz CLS500

Rookie cbe0621eac06868b3efe0d8d1d3611e23c60d3114864ea2ec19a68cfbd3eebab
No warning and no warning lights but the car had gotten to when driven short distance and then stopped and turned off, when attempted to recrank it would not. After cooling a few mins it would again crank and run. After these times the Check Engine light would come on and stay on a little while then go of. Then it got to where it would cut off at red lights, after 20ish mins it would crank. Now yesterday i had just cranked the car, drove couple miles and it cut off. Again after 20 mins it cranked and I drove home.
i have the same problem with a CLS 500. did you change your crank shaft sensor and did it fix the problem
You probably have a malfunctioning crankshaft sensor, it's a known issue with these cars. I had the exact same problem with my 99 SLK230, I had to get it replaced for $189CDN.
I took my CLS500 in to a private shop When my car would stall at the worst possible time like at the Airport. it would eventually start. Hauled it in and Piston Pete replaced the Crank sensor, mass air flow sensor and 1 other sensor. been fine sense 3 months.
