Can receive radio stations

It sounds like the antenna cable was not plugged back into the back of the radio. Also see if there is a single ground wire to the chassis of the radio that is not plugged in

the matrix antenna has a built-in amplifier to boost the rather weak radio signal coming from the small antenna. If you have the wrong wiring harness then the radio cannot provide the DC electricity to the antenna so you end up with little or no signal.
