Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! If you've replaced the camshaft position sensor multiple times on your 2000 Subaru Outback and verified that the connector and sensor are in good condition and the timing marks are correct what could be wrong? This is a real brain-buster! Have you checked for compression problems? Also, verify that the fuel pump is functioning correctly and the ignition system is providing spark to the spark plugs. Also My first thought after seeing that you replaced the block was whether the replacement block was a long block or a short block. Was it a manual block in an automatic or vice versa? Did you change the ECM? Was there programming needed? There's a lot of questions running through my head! Give us a call and we'll be happy to talk through it with you!
