burning smell coming from rear air vent

Hello, Smelling something coming from the rear vents only makes me think something was spilled inside the vents or underneath the front console or seat. The rear vents run from the center of the dash, under the center console, and to the vents on the back of the front armrest. They are made of a few pieces, so that leaves a lot of places for contaminants to enter the ducts.
