What is your question?
The front left brake is overheating severely when driving for longer than 20 miles consecutively. I suspect that it has something to do with the pads being improperly installed and slightly rubbing against the rotor when the brake pedal is not being pressed, causing excess heat to build up over time and causing that brake to lock up due to expanding brake fluid in that area. I suspect this because I’ve heard what sounds like a slight rubbing sound coming from one of the wheels brakes (but I wasn’t very sure which one it was until now). Another thing I should mention is that the tell I get that the brake is starting to overheat is that the car will begin to shudder (like how it feels to drive on unbalanced/improperly inflated tires at medium-high speeds. I won’t drive the car until I take the front left wheel off and inspect the brake pads and rotor but it would help to know what I should be looking for in terms of improper installation. Thanks!
How long has your 2005 Honda Accord had this problem?

Hello, certainly you should be wanting to make sure all brake components are properly installed. But if one side is sticking and the other side is not - and you can verify this, not just suspect it - then you may very well have a problem with the ABS system modulator. A concern can occur when replacing brakes and pushing the calipers back without loosening the bleeder screws properly to prevent back pressure of fluid through the system. It's all a guess, but unless your caliper is hanging up or the hose is restricted, this is where I'd focus attention. Hello, why the replacement alternator in the first place? What testing was performed then? This is not something I ever see, and I do see Honda's daily for the last 13 years. As a result I'd be looking at wiring or modifications or non Honda components first to see what's going on. I don't see the CVT being an issue off the top, because it won't affect hesitation unless the engine is revving up without moving the vehicle. You may also be extra sensitive to the vehicle with all that has happened; dealers have the luxury of comparing to a like vehicle, so perhaps they could do that and give feedback?
