What is your question?
I hear a noise from the brake actuator for a few seconds when I first start driving and again after I shut the engine down, and get out of the car. is this the actuator making that noise? is it normal or does it need repair? thanks

Hello, The brake actuator, like other electronic devices on your vehicle, has to go through self-checks when you start the vehicle. Now, you may be hearing the throttle body on the engine clicking back and forth during self-checks, relays coming on, or a host of other checks the vehicle has to go through like a pilot getting ready to take off. Long story short, if there is an issue with the ABS system, you won't be able to miss the light on the dash warning of a fault.
do you know if all 07 Priuses make this noise on start up or just this one? it is a clicking noise for just a few seconds then gone. the guy selling me the car said it occurs on all 07's, just wanted to make sure he wasn't telling a fib. thanks
Here's the deal. All OBD-II cars (those made from 1996 and up) run systems checks before, during, after starting. Before starting you could power the vehicle, and it will make some clicks under the hood. But what click are you hearing? We don't know. This is why we take a firm stance on having pre-purchase inspections completed before buying any used car. Also, you really should do a VIN check to make sure that car has never been flooded (hurricanes) or wrecked. Now, the reason I am leery of buying an 11 year old prius... the battery. They are expensive and they go bad. The battery can be tested as well. At the risk of sounding cynical, anyone who tells you that all 2007 model year vehicles do a particular thing should either have an ASE patch on their shirt or they want to sell a car.
