What is your question?
I have a 2006 325i BMW. Yesterday morning I went to start it and it took a little to get it going as if the battery seemed a little dead. I drove to my destination which was only a couple of miles away then parked it for the day. Yesterday evening, when I went to start it, it tried to turn over then died. I realized at that point a dome light had been left on. A couple of people tried to help me start it to avail, so I called a tow truck. He didnt have any luck and ended towing my car to my home. I have power as far as the windows and lights but it is dead. any suggestions? The tow truck driver suggested that maybe it effected the anti theft system? I dont have a regular alarm on this car so I am not sure about that.

First, the battery has to be tested. These cars are very sensitive for steady power. If the battery died it's possible that the EWS (immobilizer) lost contact with DME (engine computer) and needs to be synchronized. It requires OE or equivalent diagnostic computer to do so. Also, the new battery has to be assigned to the car, otherwise the alternator won't charge fully and there will be charging problems - it needs OE diag. computer too. I suggest find a good independent BMW specialty shop. Zee
Thank you for your response. When you say "new battery" do you mean if I was to buy a new battery?
Yes, if the battery needs to be replaced it has to be assigned to the car. It's not just a simple replacement procedure like it use to be. I'd suggest to get the OE -which is an expensive AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) battery - or a very good quality, like Interstate. Another important thing is, try to avoid jump starting this car. Since the car is 4 years old I think the battery is bad. Zee
Thank you for your suggestions.
