1998 Taurus. Battery went dead. Can't turn key in either driver or passenger door lock. Trunk lock (no electrical connection) works fine. Can't get into car or open hood to charge battery.

I had this happen to me in Arizona while working last October... Key would go in just not turn to unlock. Locksmith came and tried same issue. He wound up spraying something like kroil oil penetrating oil in key cylinder... It unstuck/ unfroze the tumblers and works like a champ now. Hopefully this will help you
