The Volkswagen warranty is 3 yrs/36,000 miles. Volkswagen recommends replacing the transmission filter and fluid at 40,000 miles. Your car is 28,000 miles out of warranty. If you did all of the recommended maintenance at a VW dealer, they may offer some assistance with the repair. If not, I doubt they will do anything. Auto manufactures like to see loyalty to their brand and dealers. The transmission should last longer than 64,000 miles and I'm sure they will agree with that. There are not technical bulletins or any major problems with the transmission that I can find. Sorry I don't have any for you. Good Luck.
I am having the exact same problem with my 2010 VW CC with only 61,000 miles. Unfortunately I bought mine used from a Mercedes Benz dealership. I heard if you were the original owner some vw dealers would fix it, because it's a documented problem.... but I'm just screwed. It's so sad, because I love this car. I didn't listen to other people when they told me not to buy a VW, and I think it's horrible than VW will not stand behind their product and recall the car, because so many people have issues with it. They changed the problem after 2013, but won't do anything about it now. :( Good luck.
thank you so much for your response.I actually need to call customer service today and talk to them that's why I just needed a little pep talk on what I should focus on.I meticulously did my part on all scheduled maintenan, having my fluids All measured properly using solely VW at all times to preform labor on ALL maintenance to try to prevent a huge problem as so. I last had my transmission service at 42,000 miles and my computer software updated many times. I did speak with vw incognito and they did state there was/is an ongoing issue w/2011 Vw CC AND IT was with the converter. I did look online and they were many service bulletins for safety with my problem I was almost in a huge car wreck because of this problem thank God it didn't happen but you never know that's why I just want a safe vehicle not looking to be greedy or what have you I just want and expect a high end product like I paid for..u know the saying you get what you pay for unfortunately not the case this time around but I want to thank you for all your input there's so much stuff online that I just don't know what to do with it. Many components of the transmission has had serious issues especially with the direct Gear shift box, clutch, Etc...well if you come across anything else please let me know and again I thank you for all your time and effort
