What is your question?
When the engine is cool, just starting out all is good after an hour or so when things heat up the check engine light comes on. A mechanic who didn't have much time checked the codes that indicated there was a fan issue he looked and we saw both were running. Is there a second speed that is not coming on or what. I hear some other cars with the fans coming on and going off. Yesterday I let the engine run with the AC on went inside for 15 minutes when I came out the AC wouldn't blow like the cooling coil was iced up. I drove back to the mechanic and told him what happened he put his gages on it which said both pressures were on the high side but it was cooling fine then. He seemed to think that the fans (2 of them) may have 2 speeds is that true and what is causing this problem. It runs & works fine otherwise.

Any indication (temp gauge) that the engine is overheating at any time???
Have had same problem for years and no one at Hyundai can fix it..Replaced computer twice and wiring harness once, abt $700 each time... It is like this. AC will not run compressor if the radiator fans are not running, which are switched on by the computer when it thinks the fans needs to run. The fans(dual) are digital, so you can't bypass and run them all the time. They test ok, and can be made to turn on by digital code when repair shop checked the computer. My Entourage will run fine for a few days then it will suddenly throw an engine code and light the indicator. The fans are not running and the car will start to overheat if not moving in traffic. So I can no longer trust the car in city traffic. Usually just turning off the engine and restarting will restart the fans, but I don't trust it in traffic and had boiled over many times. Hyundai repair (2 shops) and 1 independent repair shop have thrown in the towel on repairing this.Computer replaced by Hyundai and the independent shop, with no improvement. My next step will be to install an Auxiliary Electric Fan (see on YouTube) on the front of the radiator, so at least the car won't overheat. Most likely the AC will still not work, while it is having one of its fits.
No not at all the temp is less than 1/2 on the gage. Seems to be running at the right temp.
Really need the code number(s)!.... If you are driving on the hi way at a steady 55 mph, how does the A/C do then?.... At that speed fans do not come into play!!!... RAM air provides the cooling..... IF fans were not running efficiently enough, engine should be getting hotter in traffic or at extended idle....without RAM air!... As stated, need the numbers!
At 55 and above on a stretch it cools great the check engine light stays on. The temp gauge moves very little in traffic it's just a tiny bit more and not 1/2 way. I'll will go and get the codes later today and send them to you. Many Thanks
Sure!
The code if I remember right looking over the testers shoulder was PO480. From what he observed he said it looks like either the fan controller or one or both of the fans not running up to speed. I looked down at the fans and one on the left I could see the blades while it was spinning on the right side I could not see the blades as it spinning. So would it be a bad controller or a bad fan motor or both fan motors?
That's not the right code!... It needs to be scanned and then a functional test run with scanner to test the fan system!
