Some cast iron block, aluminum head engines are known for blowing head gaskets. Is this a problem with the 2UZFE engine?

Hello, I would not say that this engine is "known" for failure. But you are correct, when you have dissimilar metals such as cast-iron and aluminum mounted to each other, excessive heat can cause warpage of the softer metal. This does not mean that it's going to happen. Because cylinder head gaskets are often sized accordingly to allow for expansion and contraction of metal. As a result, diagnostic testing should be done when there's a concern of overheating. The vehicle should never be driven when the engine is overheating so as to prevent extreme damage situation's. Stop leak should never be used in an engine because it doesn't fix anything. Air pockets should always be purged from a cooling system when cooling system components are replaced. An engine cooling fan should always be verified to be working. If you have further specific questions, definitely see a shop near you.
