I also bought a key online. I took it to a locksmith and was told I would have to take it to the dealership to get the key programmed. It costs about $30.

My 99 Catera is doing the same things. My car only has 70k miles on it and the key sometimes does not turn the ignition switch, it is intermittent. Today it stranded me at Rite Aid.....a friend told me to put graphite into the ignition switch?
