when compressors fail, metal usually goes into the system and contaminates other components. when doing this service, the dryer, orfice tube must be replaced along with flushing the system is required or the new one will fail from all the metal. there is not supposed to be any noise coming from these units. i suggest another shop that can examine the system for you and make sure you give them the history of your repairs.
