What is your question?
My cruise control stopped working and after some time the service required of the airbag started popping up and it keeps popping up it doesn't stay on does anybody have an idea what it might be? I'm being told I should change out the coil for the airbag that causes sometimes problems with the cruise control as well, but then I've been reading that the cruise control module might be need to be replaced. Any thoughts? Thank you for your help

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Lancer. It sounds like your airbag system and cruise control are malfunctioning and could be related. Often, the issue with the airbag system can be traced to the clock spring, a coil in the steering wheel that maintains the connection between the airbag and the rest of the system while allowing the wheel to turn. If the clock spring is faulty, it can trigger the "Airbag Service Required" light and disrupt the cruise control functionality, as both systems are connected through the steering wheel wiring. Inspecting the clock spring is a good starting point, as it often causes both issues. However, if replacing the clock spring doesn't fix the problem, the cruise control module may need further inspection or replacement. It's best to have a mechanic diagnose both systems to ensure the correct part is replaced. You might also want to have the system scanned for any fault codes that could pinpoint the exact cause of the malfunction.
