Adding dual exhaust

I doubt you will see any better mileage. In fact I'd almost bet your mileage gets worse. Only because the car might sound sportier so you might drive sportier. Besides the exhaust will still go from 2 pipes to 1 making it into 2 pipes after the cat doesn't rid the system if the original 2 to 1 restriction.
