Hello, If you have to add refrigerant then you have a leak in the refrigerant system. Air conditioning refrigerant systems should never leak, so have the system UV dye tested to find the cause of the leak. Also, when they leak refrigerant, they absorb air (and humidity), so the system may be at the right pressure but unable to function. Recommend finding the leak, replacing the orifice tube (if equipped), replacing receiver drier/accumulator, and repairing the leak. If there was no leak and the system was full when you added r134a, the system will require diagnosis to understand the issue.
