A/c making a growling noise

(2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport)
when I press on the gas with the a/c on it makes a growling noise, not all the time. Just had the Freon evacuated (said it was low), tested, filled, dye run (was ok) but it still makes the noise.
What seems to make the problem better or worse? pushing on the gas
How long have you had this problem? A few days
Tags: ran tests, have had freon evacuated, was low, refilled, ran dye test, everything ok, but still makes growling, mitsubishi, outlander sport

Usually caused by a failing a/c compressor.. Turn off a/c noise probably stops.

When the refrigerant (freon) leaks out - some of the systems oil also escapes - it is worth a shot to have some *refrigerant oil* added back to the system - this ‘might’ quieten growling a/c compressor..
