if the compressor locksup, what are all theparts that need to be replaced? I was told an additional few parts from thelist jn order to receive a warranty onreplacing the system. the price was in the high end range for a private shop, but also included moreparts ($815)

Replace the entire compressor assembly. If you buy the part from a dealership, it will include a clutch as well. Some compressors come "Dry". Check the oil in the compressor before installing it by draining it into a measuring cup. In general, between 1-2oz should be present. you can add oil if necessary into the suction port. ND8 PAG R134a refrigerant oil. Don't forget to replace the reciever-drier.
the other part besides the receiver dryer that they installed was an expansion valve; after they got the front end done, it turned out the rear was bad too, so a rear expansion valve? is needed now, and the part has been discontinued...NOW what? Plus the water pump had a lot of play in it and instead of messin with it later, I had them go ahead and do it now
