Abs and brake lights stay on all the time. No difference in braking. Any ideas?

Hello, Are you saying the vehicle would not communicate with the scanner, or that the ABS module would not communicate with the scanner? If the entire vehicle would not communicate, check your fuses. There is a fuse for the plug the scanner connects to. The ABS light can be on for various reasons, and you were right to try scanning first. Check the fuse under the hood for the ABS as well. The brakes should work just like normal, as long as you don;t do any emergency stops... especially in rain/sleet/snow.
