96 xj6 makes raddling belt or chain like sound when in idol or when I slow down

Make sure you have the proper level of engine oil in the vehicle. Also have an experienced mechanic inspect and determine where the noise is coming from - it could be timing related noise and if not addresses properly could cause damage to the engine.
