What is your question?
Every time it rains. I'm assuming it's the crankshaft position sensor or the cam shaft sensor on my co workers vehicle since I really don't want to rip apart a really stupidly designed motor if I don't have to. Like why was it necessary to put the crankshaft position underneath the ac pump.

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Blame it on the rain! It's an oldie but a goodie by that lip-syncing power duo, Milli Vanilli! I'm very old. In this case, it's frustrating when rain affects the start of your car. Water could be causing an issue with your ignition system or sensors, including the crankshaft or camshaft sensors. These sensors help your engine start by providing crucial timing information. Given the location of the crankshaft position sensor under the AC pump, water intrusion could be causing intermittent failures. If you want to get after it, expect a labor-intensive repair or have a pro pinpoint the exact cause and ensure the Mitsubishi starts reliably, rain or shine.
