What is your question?
I backed up in front of my house and noticed reverse lights had went out. Next morning looked at the fuses and bulbs, and everything looked good. But GMC would not start. No crank at all Starter does not make any sound when turning key Battery is good shows 12.64 volts. The wires all seem fine, no real where and tear anywhere All fuses under hood and back seat checked out visually and with a test light and had power. Except one:TR Park #42 under back seat. Replaced it, but did not help start the car. Checked the wires to Solenoid. One direct from battery had power, but not the one from ignition to the lower bolt on the solenoid. I had someone try to start the car and it did not light up my test light. I hope I did it correct. All the lights come on dashboard when turned on, and turn off after 3-4 seconds. Except the four wheel drive warning light stays on. Read these could be the problem. Neutral Safety Switch Park neutral backup switch Transmission Position Sensor (Switch)
How long has your 2008 GMC Envoy had this problem?

check the "small" ignition switch wire on the starter solenoid with your test light or volt meter while helper turns the key to the cranking position for signal/voltage.
I see 3 wires connecting to solenoid. The top one from battery has power at all times. The middle one has an electical connector that plugs into solenoid. Small purple wire. I had to unconnect that to make a connection with the wire. Then tested the wire coming in (I assume from ignition) while son turned key to cranking position. No power. Bottom wire goes to starter. I tested it at the connection as he turned the key to crank. No power.
Yeah, the small one that plugs in,not either of the two large wires on the large screws. if you got NO reading while helper turned the key to the cranking position, then suspect the ignition switch is bad (electrical part, not key cylinder).
Thanks I was looking at replacing that to start with. Another person suggested since the reverse lights did not come on in might be park neutral switch or sometimes called neutral safety switch. What do you think?
That's possible. Neutral Safety Switch and Reverse Light Switch are both in the same switch.
That will be my next stop. Replaced ignition switch this morning, but still no power.
