What is your question?
My Mountaineer has a constant LOUD ticking/knocking noise as soon as it starts whether it's idle or running the oil pressure is fine. I keep my oil changed, my husband has checked something with a long wooden rod?? under the hood and he said that was all good! It has 97,000 miles on it and we have kept up on maintenance, just not sure what this sound is?
Yes it is on cold start as soon as I start it, the noise starts and doesn't stop until I turn it off!!
When it get warms up the noise go away?
no, the noise never goes away it's consistent from idling, to driving down the road until I shut it off!
Try clean your throttle body on the inside first Clean it with good carb clean make sure you take it out and clean it
ok thank you, my husband is going to tear into it this weekend, I'll let him know!
Tore into the motor. Timing chain is slapping against the head. Tensioner shoe looks to have plenty of meat on it but seems to be locked in place

Have a mechanic that knows how' to retension your timing chain near you I would recommend you to replace the tensioner sometimes re using the old will not help it will returned couple days Good luck
