Car sat for a year and was running fine prior. starts with starter fluid. relay and fuses good. inertia button ok. no power to new fuel pump.
What makes this problem better or worse?

TEST for battery power at the inertia switch wires with the wire connector connected - have helper crank engine - test each wire - both should have battery voltage while engine is cranking. IF both wires do indeed have battery voltage - problem is from inertia switch down to the pump. Possible damaged wiring - defective pump. It is very good practice to hook up a new pump before installing in tank so it can be tested by turning key on! This will also confirm all electrical components are operational.. Good luck!
NOW - ‘IF’ there is *NO battery power at inertia switch* - problem is likely under hood - PCM failures are rare. In this case the fuse and relay need to be re-tested!! Beyond these test - seek *hands-on* assistance from qualified personnel.
