1993 Chevy Caprice losing power when accelerating.

I have a 5.7L SBC 350 out of a 1993 Chevy Caprice (police package) that has recently been giving me some problems. After a couple of minutes of running good it loses power under a hard acceleration and seems to not be able to go over 2500 RPM. It also becomes a lot louder from the exhaust having lots of pops/ maybe backfire. I recently ran codes and got 43 Elec Spark Control Module Or Sensor problem. It also resolves if I turn off and back on it will run perfectly fine again until I step on it. Any suggestions on how to fix would be greatly appreciated.

This could be an opti-spark issue, low fuel pressure and a few other things. I'd start with check the fuel pressure but also look around the opti unit for wetness. It's possible coolant is leaking on it.
