my van will not change gears stuck in first it has full power it runs fine it started one day the check engine light came on and it stopped changing gears the shop said it;s the shift silinor how much will it cost

The 'shop' that diagnosed the shift solenoid as being the problem didn't give you an estimnate to repair it?
YOU ARE RIGHT the first thing he said was replace it i will NOT be going there again

the solenoid pack is about 300 at the dealer. the laboris about 1.8hours. i would have this confirmedby another shop as this is not a common failure. Roy
