why is my abs and traction control light on?

My recommendation is to first check your engine's 12 volt battery to see If it is fully charged and able to handle a load. Low battery voltage can cause all kinds of problems -- so check this first. If your battery checks perfect and strong, then start testing your chassis related electronic module components with a diagnostic tool that can read these kinds of codes. This will give you some clues as to what has caused the warning light to illuminate.
