Only happens when the engine has time to cool down, like overnight or even a few hours. I have to crank the engine and hit the gas pedal to get it started. Sometimes after I crank it will start but then turn off if I don't keep my foot on the gas. PLEASEE HELP!!

You did not say how many miles on the vehicle. May be clogged filters, by pushing on the gas pedal you r letting more air into the system which may tricking sensors. need to get fuel pressure checked.
There are 206,000 miles on the van. I just recently replaced the fuel filter and air filter but problem still occurs.
