2009 Lincoln MKS 100,000 mi,
Trunk latch stuck in open position. Recommended trunk latch be replaced. Estimated parts/labor $500
trunk will latch when pushed to the closed position, but it will not lock. the release buttonbelow the trunk lid will always release the latch since the latch will not lock.the hand held fob and the glove box button will always release the trunk latch. since the trunk latch is never locked the trunk lid can be opened by anyone who can then read the code for opening the car doors by means of the door keypad and can the start the engine and drive away (steal) the car.
