Lincoln MKS headlight and directional light failure due to moisture buildup from poor engineering in inner fender well cover on Lincoln MKS

Problem overview

Some Lincoln MKS owners report experiencing headlight and directional light failures due to moisture buildup from poor engineering in the inner fender well cover. This issue can lead to condensation inside the headlamp, rear combination lamp, daytime running lamp (DRL), or fog lamp, particularly during certain weather conditions. While condensation on the inside of the lamp lens may occur, it does not always require replacement of the lamp assembly, as noted in technical service bulletins (TSBs). Additionally, the infiltration of saturated humid air can result in condensation due to temperature differences between the interior and exterior of the light. It is crucial for owners to address this moisture issue promptly to prevent further damage and ensure the proper functioning of their lights.
